It’s hard to talk to dad sometimes. His silence about his feelings and thoughts made him mysterious and hard to see through.Yocould never break his hard shell and get to know him.And he seemed to want to stay that way too.
But a year ago when my relationship with my wife and career took a hit.I needed my dad to pull back the curtain so I could see him as real and accessible.I was facing serious problems and I wanted to know whether he had faced them before and how he had found his way, because I felt like I had lost mine.In desperation,it occurred to me that sending an email might be the key,so I wrote him one, telling him about my regrets and fears, and I asked him to answer,if he felt like it.
Two weeks later,it showed up in my inbox:a much-thought,three-page letter.Dad,a 68-year-old retired technologist and grandfather of four, had carefully considered my message, and crafted a response. He mentioned his lost love, the foolish mistake he made in career and the stupid pride he had between him and his parents. He comforted me that “life will still find its right track despite many of its twists and turns.”
I closed the email and started to cry, because I wished I had opened up earlier but was grateful it wasn’t too late.I cried because at 33,in the midst of my own struggles, his letter instantly put me at ease. And I cried because in the end,it was so simple:I just had to hit “Send.”
We’ve since had many email exchanges. This increasing communication opened a door into his world. My problems haven’t been magically solved, but getting to know my dad better has made the tough stuff more manageable and life sweeter. It’s hard to talk to dad sometimes, but I’m glad I found a way to talk to mine.

The Coral Sea is a large series of coral reefs located off the northeast coast of Australia. This area is three times larger than Australia’s famous Great Barrier Reef, which the Coral Sea borders.
The Coral Sea is one of the few coral reef environments that have remained largely undamaged by over-fishing,oil and gas exploration and pollution. However, statistics show that coral reefs around the world are disappearing five times faster than rainforests. It is very likely that in the near future the Coral Sea will face the same threats to its existence.
The Australian government is currently looking at options for protecting the Coral Sea but has made no decisions.Environmentalists are pushing for laws to declare the Coral Sea area a marine protected area. This world mean a large “no-take zone” for fishermen,a no-exploration zone for gas and oil companies and a no-dump zone for pollution. This world make the Coral Sea a marine park larger than any in the world.

One of the biggest social issues in Japan is the increasingly low marriage rate among young people and the small birth rate, which led to an aging and eventually shrinking(萎缩) population. Most young Japanese women simply don’t seem interested in having many children.
Now what began in Japan is happening globally. As David Brooks wrote, birth rate is becoming smaller in much of the world, from Iran-1.7 births rate per woman-to Russian, where low birth rates connected with high death rates mean the population is already shrinking. And this includes US,which has long had higher birth rates than most developed nations.Aging countries will face the burden of caring for large elderly populations without a larger source of young workers.
It’s true that global aging is going to present some major challenges.Who will take care of the elderly? Will an older world be less active and slower to change and adapt? It’s all true.Sometimes I worry about a coming generational war over resources, just as I worry about how I will take care of my own parents in their old age, just as I worry about who might take care of me.
But here’s the thing:an older world may have less pressure on the environment. As we all know, the environment is the real victim of overpopulation.
So maybe a world that grows slower and grows older will put less pressure on the environment, and buy us a few more years to ensure our energy use, along with our birthrates, reaches a sustainable(可持续的) level. After all,we’re supposed to get smarter as we got older.Hopefully that holds true for the planet as well.

Two biggest wealth in life: your talent and your time. Talent increases and time decreases. Our life, in a way, is trading time with talents. Wasting time means our time decreases while our talents do not increase. 36
•Get to know how youse your usual time and make improvements
Take a week and write down what yodo every 30 minutes every day and make it into categories. After a week’s recording, you’ll see which part consumes most of the time. 37 And yocould come up with a revised timetable for your next week.
•Use fragment(碎片) times and “dead times”
By time recording, you’ll be amazed how much time you’ve waste in waiting for the bus, queuing, walking, etc.Yocould really put that time to better use. 38 Use your fragment times for insignificant matters so that yocould have more time for things that really matter.
• 39
There’re always things to be done every day,and the thing we could do is to identify whether it’s urgent or important. The things yoneed to do for the day rest only on the urgent as well as important things. Don’t become slaves to urgent but unimportant things.
•Use the 20%--80% principle
At the most efficient time, 20% of time could generate 80% of efficiency and on the contrary, at the least efficient time, 80% of the time could only generate 20% of efficiency. We should be doing important works at the most efficient time. That time period differs from person to person, 40 Yet, generally speaking, it’s round 10 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
After being familiar with those tips, the next thing would be to implement and hold on to it. Do the right thing at the right time, and we shall make our time to its fullest.
A. Finish as many tasks as possible
B. Pick three things yomust finish today
C.but everyone has a peak effect time

As an international student from Argentina,Mariano had to pay 1 2 months’rent in advance to
get his place in London.Dutchman Miguel booked some super—-expensive residence in Nottingham because he didn’t know any better.Ben from the UK was looking around the streets of Nottingham knocking on doors trying to find a place.
A year after graduating from universities respectively, the three men realized that there was a
business opportunity. They came up with a plan to create an online marketplace matching students
with accommodation. So in 2011 the three started work on their business and website Uniplaces.
They invested around£50,000.Later that year they won first round funding of 200,000 euros
led by the founder of UK property website Zoopla.
From there it was down to business, getting a permanent office in Lisbon,Portugal and
attracting landlords(房东)to join the site and checking properties(房产).The Uniplaces website

Mariano,28,says:“We picked Lisbon as our first city as it totally made sense to stay here.It
is a low—cost, good location with access to great talent such as good engineers, and people with
excellent language skills, which is great when dealing with so many international students.”
Students using Uniplaces pay one month’S rent in advance via the website, and the sum goes
through to the landlord 24 hours after they move in.Thereafter they pay directly to the landlord
Uniplaces takes a service fee of 20—25%of the student’S first month’s rent.
Since its launch, three million nights have been booked through the platform, which currently

While the world is still debating the safety of self—driving Cars,Dubai,in the United Arab
Emirates(UAE),is preparing to launch autonomous aerial(空中的)taxi.Starting in July, passengers will be able to take the world’S first passenger drone, the EHang 184,to transport them to their desired destination without having to deal with Dubai’S crowded freeways.
The pilot—less drone weighs 440 pounds and Can fly at heights of up to 11,500 feet.Powered
by eight propellers, the four—legged, egg—shaped vehicle has room for a single passenger weighing up to 220 pounds and a small suitcase. The aerial taxi can reach speeds of up to 100 mph.
Riders can ask for the flying taxi to pick them up from designated zones using the company’s
smart—phone app. When the drone arrives,he/she straps into the seat, selects one of the pre—pro—grammed destinations on the touchscreen, and sits back and enjoys the flight. To ensure the passenger’s safety, all flights are monitored remotely by a control room on the ground.

emergency landing in the closest possible area to ensure the customer’s safety. The drone is also
